Thanks to its clinically proven, safe, and effective properties, Fluoride is one of the main active ingredients in our oral care range.

What is Fluoride?

Fluoride comes from fluorine, which is a common natural element. Fluoride has the chemical formula F and is usually white and colorless.

What is Fluoride Used In/For?

Fluoride is used in some public water systems as well as in toothpastes, mouthwashes, dental floss, and supplements due to its proven effects of reducing the prevalence of tooth decay. At Spotlight Oral Care, we use Fluoride as an essential, active ingredient in our oral care solutions.

What Are The Effects Of Fluoride?

Fluoride slows down the process of demineralisation, whereby the enamel of teeth loses calcium and phosphate when exposed to acid following ingestion of food and drinks which contain sugars. It also helps to remineralise surfaces that show early signs of calcium or phosphate loss, such as an opaque appearance. Using toothpastes that don’t include Fluoride, and other active, necessary ingredients, has serious short and long-term implications for oral health. Look for oral care products that contain Fluoride to reduce plaque build-up, strengthen your enamel, help make teeth more resistant to acid attacks, and prevent tooth decay.

Knowing that our mouths are 50 times more absorbent than our skin means using only the best high-quality, clean, active, and effective ingredients in our oral care products is vital. You will never find harmful ingredients like propylene glycol, triclosan, sulphates, palm oils, parabens DEA, SLS, BPA, or Phthalates in our oral care solutions.
